Let us introduce the brain power behind this pop up shop.
Bec Fogarty - Owner designer and creator of BHO bags and purses and involved in the setup and running of several successful pop up projects run in and around Perth. She brings the perspective of a designer and business owner.
Serene Maisey - Handmade lover, business manager and photographer. Her experience in consulting and natural retail ability make every customer comfortable and looked after. Her thirst for success and opportunities give tremendous drive.
Society has been in the pipeline for over 12 months, however a recent opportunity has made it a reality. What is a pop up shop I hear you say? A temporary retail store that makes use of a vacant space anywhere from 1 day - 3 months. While pop up stores are usually hosted by a collective or individuals Society will be run by Bec and Serene with 10 - 14 handmade creators and designers.
We want all of our artists to have a great experience and get involved. We encourage the running of workshops in the store and run "lunch lessons" everyday. What is a lunch lesson? a 15min quickie workshop that is provided free of charge. We would like these to be a daily occurrence. These can take place on the day when you are doing your shift in the store. They can be anything from making some earrings to, taking great iPhone photos. The possibilities are endless.
